All Airlines have their own carry-on restrictions and weight allowances. In order to try and group this into one acceptable standard, IATA has suggested a standard carry-on luggage measurement of 55x35x20cm. Very importantly, this has not been adopted as mandatory yet and airlines continue to use their own restrictions.
